If you picture a romantic vineyard in your mind it’s a good bet it would look like the farmhouse and cypress tree dotted rolling hills of Italy’s beautiful Tuscany region. I just like the thought of sitting on one of these hillsides with a glass of wine and watching as the peloton of a stage of the Giro D’Italia comes rolling by.

Viticulture was originally introduced to the Bordeaux region of France by the Romans of the first century. Funny thing that in the late 1800’s almost all vineyards in Bordeaux were ruined by an infestation of a tiny root eating insect called Phylloxera. The only cure was to graft insect resistant rootstock from America to the vines of the region, thus making most of current Bordeaux wines American in origin!
Bordeaux is known for it’s chateau’s as much for it’s vineyards. So, I couldn’t resist putting them together in one image for this print.

Located in the eastern foothills of the Andes, in the shadow of Aconcagua, the vineyards of the Mendoza area are planted at some of the highest altitudes for vineyards in the world. Argentina's most highly rated Malbec wines originate from Mendoza's wine regions of Lujan de Cuyo and the Uco Valley. These Districts are located in the foothills of the Andes mountains.
With this image I wanted to show both the majestic Andes mountains and a historic mission showing the age and tradition of the wine making in the area. .

“Been meaning to pick this one up for a few years. I am finally checking some boxes for home
decor. I will pass your gallery link on to some friends who also recently purchased new homes.”

Since the valley’s first vineyards were established in the mid 1800’s the Napa Valley region has grown in influence to viticulture world wide. In 1976, the region got a massive boost from the Paris wine tasting of 1976, which featured a Napa Valley chardonnay and cabernet that bested several famous French labels. The story of the wine competition, was made into a movie in 2008, called Bottle Shock. The results of this tasting cemented the region's reputation as a producer of world class wines.
I thought to show the California essence of the Napa Valley we would have to add in a vintage pick-up trucksheltered under some coastal live oak trees.
