Memorial Fountain Prints
Situated at the center of Cleveland's Memorial Plaza this is a Fountain of many names. Some call it the Peace Fountain, some the Fountain of Eternal life. It's creator, CIA graduate Marshall Fredericks however entitled the work "Peace Rising from the Flames of War". Initiated by the Cleveland Press in 1964 the 35 ft. tall bronze figure of man reaches and rises skyward toward God and the future above a flaming globe that depicts all the beasts of the earth. It is surrounded by four granite block sculptures representing the four corners of the earth. The fountain's base holds plaques on which are etched the names of every Clevelander who has given they're lives in conflict going back to the Spanish American war.
